Fontana House
Private Lake House — Fontana, Wisconsin
For this weekend respite on the shores of beautiful Geneva Lake, the owners wished to expand their home to share with a growing family of children and grandchildren. The original stucco structure suffered from pragmatic issues, including inefficient mechanical systems, minimal natural light, and structural concerns.
Part of a large-scale reinterpretation of the residence, nearly 20 new windows bring breathtaking lakefront vistas indoors and maximize daylighting. Vaulted ceilings with Craftsman-style board panels enhance the new atmosphere of light and proportion while complementing the exterior architecture. New heating, ventilation, mechanical, and roof systems extend the home’s lifespan, making it comfortable and safe for years to come. Custom-designed and selected furniture, including built-in cabinetry, complete the dramatic transformation of this family heirloom.
